I love Football!! The hard hitting action, the competitiveness and especially the tailgating. From September to January, my Sunday revolves around football and food! (Or As much as my wife allows it).
However, Super Bowl Sunday is a bit different. My focus is not as much on the game but more on The Grub! Mostly because my beloved Philadelphia Eagles aren’t exactly running through the playoffs year-after-year, but also because it gives me a chance to really be creative with my recipes.
If you check out Pinterest for super bowl food ideas, you will find a plethora of options. Many people stick with the traditional hot wings, hoagies and pizzas. For me, I love the challenge of making a dish that my guests will remember and talk about by the water cooler at work the next day.
Bacon Wrapped Potato Wedges
Warning… Your guests waking up in the middle of the night craving your food is a possible symptom of this recipe.
Bacon Wrapped Potato Wedges will be the hit of your Super Bowl Party. The crispiness of the bacon combined with the hot, moist potato, finished off with a glaze with just the right amount of seasoning, brings Heaven to your mouth! This dish is the perfect compliment to any party food you have and it is super simple to make. It will leave your friends satisfied and wanting more. This recipe derives from my shrimp Le Jon recipe. I figured if shrimp stuffed with horseradish and wrapped with bacon taste amazing, so would Cajun seasoned potatoes wrapped in bacon. An added plus, it will appeal to your guests who hate or is allergic to seafood.
Crowd Pleaser and very economical to make.
If you deep fry the wedges, they will be cooked in minutes and it will take away the effort of having to turn them.
Enjoyed by people of all ages. Kids and adults love this appetizer.
This appetizer transports well if traveling.
